Each program is accredited by respected organizations, such as ASRT, to ensure students are ready for real-world practice.
1. Rad Tech Certification
Begin your journey by becoming a certified radiologic technologist (ARRT® or equivalent), which is the foundational requirement to pursue mammography.
2. Complete 40 hours of MQSA-compliant Initial Mammography Training
Enroll in a structured cross-training program, like our Initial Mammography Training Course, to learn breast anatomy and physiology, positioning and compression, implants, as well as quality control and assurance.
3. Supervised Mammograms
Gain real-world experience by completing 25 supervised mammograms under supervision to meet clinical requirements.
4. Training in Digital Breast Tomosynthesis/3d Mammography
Complete 8 hours of MQSA-required training in Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT/3D) before performing unsupervised mammograms on a 3D mammography system.

Need Supervised Mammograms?
MTMI has established a 3-day program for performing 25 supervised clinical exams to meet the MQSA requirement. We also have a 2-week (10 business days) program where you can obtain all ARRT® clinical requirements needed to sit for the ARRT® Mammography board registry exam.
In order to be eligible, attendees must complete MTMI's Initial Mammography Training course and MTMI’s 8-hour 3D Mammography training course (digital breast tomosynthesis). This is required by our partnering Mammography facilities. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required.
