Celebrate YOU During NRTW with a Special Six CE Webinar

Join us in celebrating National Radiologic Technology Week 2024 by attending this six CE webinar filled with imaging topics sure to answer your lingering questions in your practice or other modalities. You will begin the webinar with a pep-rally for technologists with “We are More Than Just Button Pushers”! Then you will be treated with short presentations on Radiopharmaceutical Therapy in Nuclear Medicine, Breast Cancer Genetics, and MRI Safety Tips you might not know. We will conclude with methods to help you or someone you know recognize and conquer job burnout. 

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants will:

  • Understand how biases impact radiologic technologists (both our own biases and the biases of others) 

  • Identify and discuss the history of radiologic technology (with a big shout-out to the ASRT for their advocacy) 

  • Identify and discuss challenges that technologist have experienced and continue to experience 

  • Discuss and identify ways to overcome those challenges 

  • Identify and explain the various career paths that Radiologic Technologists now have 

  • Describe the Safety Zones in an MR Department

  • Discover resources for implants in MRI

  • Discuss patient care scenarios for emergency situations

  • Give examples of safety issues that can occur with the MR machine and other equipment

  • Review treatment planning goals and methodologies 

  • Discuss fixed activity and patient-specific dosimetry approaches 

  • Review requirements from nuclear medicine to support radiopharmaceutical therapy dosimetry 

  • Understand the risk factors for breast cancer

  • Discuss gene mutations, risks and testing options

  • Describe what the Angelina Effect is

  • Discuss gene mutations in men

  • Identify who should get genetic counseling

  • Understand the types of software available for risk assessment for breast cancer

  • Identify factors contributing to burnout

  • Assess burn out triggers

  • Identify tools to manage burnout

Brenda DeBastiani

Brenda DeBastiani

Brenda DeBastiani is the President of MTMI, a position that she has held since April 2024.  Before this, Brenda was the Director of Imaging at Tampa General Hospital Spring Hill for 2 years, and Director of Imaging at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, WV, where she worked for 33 years.  Brenda holds a Bachelor’s degree from Fairmont State University and an MBA from Waynesburg University.  Brenda has spoken at numerous national and regional conferences, is an AHRA Fellow, a Certified Radiology Administrator, and was the 2022-2023 AHRA President.

Deborah Davis

Deborah has been a registered radiologic technologist since 1995, specializing in mammography since 1996. Deborah has been a lead technologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas for 24 years.  With her 25 years of experience as a mammographer, she started teaching mammography continuing education courses and has been performing mammography consulting for 18 years.  Deborah currently is a medical educator at the UT School of Health Professions at MD Anderson Cancer Center bachelor program teaching the 40-hour initial mammography training curriculum and preparation for the ARRT registry.  She completed her Master of Science in Radiologic Sciences degree at UT School of Health Professions in August 2021.  She travels around the United States to help guide the accreditation process and MQSA yearly inspections for MTMI.  She is passionate about breast health and shares her experience and knowledge to help fight the battle with breast cancer.

Dana brings over fifteen years of experience in radiology as a radiology technologist assistant, radiologic technologist, and radiology sales representative. Dana's career has taken her across the United States, allowing her to work in hospitals and for radiology imaging companies. Currently based in southern Colorado, she is passionate about mentoring and supporting fellow technologists in their professional development in the radiology field.

Cancellation Policy

Webinars less than 8 hours of credit

Refunds, minus a $15 processing fee, will be granted for cancellations received at least 3 days prior to the program. Cancellations received within 3 days of the webinar will receive a credit toward a future MTMI program, minus the $15 processing fee. No refunds will be made after the webinar starts. MTMI reserves the right to cancel any scheduled program because of low advance registration or other reasons. MTMI’s liability is limited to a refund of any program tuition paid. WEBINAR ATTENDEES that cannot log in due to unsolvable technical issues beyond their control will be eligible for a full refund.
