Stamatia Destounis, MD, FACR is the managing partner at Elizabeth Wende Breast Care in Rochester, New York where she has practiced as a breast radiologist since 1993. Dr. Destounis participates with several radiology committees nationally and is a past board member of the Eastern Division of the American Cancer Society. She is involved with clinical research in Breast Ultrasound, Digital Breast Tomosynthesis Mammography and Breast MRI.
She has published several peer review articles in radiology journals and has written several chapters on the subject of breast imaging. She is an invited speaker nationally and internationally for radiology seminars on breast disease topics, as well as her clinical research. She serves on various committees with organizations including SBI, ACR and RSNA and is a reviewer for several peer review journals. She is the Chair for the ACR Breast Commission and the Chair for the ACR Breast MRI Accreditation Committee. She also serves on several committees for RSNA and the Communication Task force for SBI.
