Educational Objectives
At the completion of this seminar attendees will:
  • Have reviewed and seen echo studies for congenital heart disease and LV dysfunction.
  • Understand what constitutes a complete echocardiogram study.
  • Know how to approach the obese patient for echocardiogram studies.
  • Have up-to-date knowledge of ICAEL requirements for lab accreditation.
  • Have a template for complete and standardized echocardiogram report.
  • Understand the FDA position on contrast in echo studies.

    About this Seminar
    Echocardiography is a rapidly growing and challenging field due to technological advances, accreditation, continuing education requirements and changing regulations. This 2-day seminar will address these current issues with both lectures and live scanning demonstrations of patients as well as challenging case studies given by respected authorities in the field. Update your knowledge of the requirements and skills required to be successful while receiving CME credits needed to work in this field.
    Who Should Attend
    This seminar is for physicians and sonographers working in the field of Echocardiography as well as physicians-in-training and vendor personnel. Other applied health personnel interested in the clinical aspects of echocardiography will also find it of value.
    CME Credit
    The Medical Technology Management Institute (MTMI) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education for physicians. MTMI designates this educational activity for a maximum of 13.5 hours in category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

    14 hours of SDMS credit will be awarded to sonographers if they attend the additional session at the end of day two.
